Man booker's youngest publishing house gives a gift to sparkling new writer.
As soon as Myrmidon received the mauscript of Tan Twan Eng's The Gift of Rain, they knew they wanted to publish it. The publishers thought it was a "wonderful, beautifully written story" and "knew it deserved an audience".
Bravo to Tan Twan Eng who had been rejected by every major publishing house in London for two years, and still persisted. The payoff? Published and on the Man Booker longlist.
Truly a gift.
